Burnett Foundation Aotearoa has been at the forefront of the community response to HIV in Aotearoa for nearly 40 years. Their vision is an Aotearoa with zero HIV transmission, where all people living with HIV thrive, and rainbow and takatāpui communities enjoy great sexual health.
Positive Women Inc was born in 1990 to support and empower women and families living with or affected by HIV or AIDS. An often overlooked yet significant part of the HIV community living in Aotearoa New Zealand. They work to raise awareness of HIV and AIDS in the community through educational programmes with a focus on prevention and de-stigmatisation.
Body Positive is a welcoming group open to all people living with HIV and AIDS. Body Positive Inc was founded by, and is still run by, people living with HIV/AIDS. Their mission is to break down isolation and build a sense of community. It also advocates on behalf of HIV+ people throughout New Zealand.
Toitu te Ao are a Māori led organisation for Māori living with HIV - this includes providing support and advocacy for Māori, Polynesian and indigenous people living with HIV. They are a kaupapa driven organisation here to support you. Their mission is to provide awareness and education which will effectively promote a holistic wellbeing approach with a focus on de-stigmatisation through a cultural lens.
